Ethiopian Insight is founded to promote a better understanding and a stronger defence of the unbroken linage of True Apostolic Christianity which is alive and well in the Land of the Ark of God's Covenant ETHIOPIA, and to share an overstanding of the Rastafari faith and movement.

Since 1991-92 Ethiopian Insight and it’s fellow servants have been actively working in Ethiopia initiating a variety of projects for the development and benefit of all Ethiopians and for the Rastafari Community in Sheshemane as well as around Ethiopia in general.

HABTE WOLD

ETHIOPIAN INSIGHT

Habte Wold is a researcher, trainer and a founding member of Rastafari Heritage which specialises in researching and teaching about the roots and development of Rastafari and in creating educational resources for schools and other organisations.

Habte Wold has visited Africa over 30 times to study the continents fabulous, but at times traumatic history to expand his own knowledge, and to be able to share his insights with others. Habte Wold founded Ethiopian Insight over 18 years ago to educate others about Africa and Black History.

As a consultant and trainer to teachers, school students and others, Habte works with the Schools Black History Forum, and the S.A.C.R.E (Standing Advisory Council for Religious Education) in Birmingham, which has listed Rastafari alongside other Faiths and Religions in the City to be taught in schools.   He has delivered presentations to many influential institutions such as The British Library, The National Association of Religious Archivists, as well as lecturing and training in Universities, Schools, Prisons and many Inter-faith communities worldwide.

Habte Wold is a practising member of the Ethiopian Orthodox Church and has been a Rastafarian for most of his life.   His main teaching focuses on the development of black and world history, these include the two great pillars of the Ethiopian Orthodox faith and history, and the cultural heritage of Rastafari's spiritual faith and movement.

Ethiopian Insight also manages African Heritage Tours which offer a unique opportunity for individuals and groups to experience Ethiopia, Africa or the Caribbean on a program of educational, spiritual and cultural tours.

Habte is keen to explore African heritage and the role black people have played in world history, he shares his culture with students and audiences of all ages as he draws on his personal faith and experiences to make his workshops lively and interesting.

Workshops Include, Audio visual presentations, motivational discussions and reasoning, advice and consultations, exhibitions, art displays and African artefacts, with reference to language diversity through the use of storytelling.

AFRICAN HERITAGE - THE HERITAGE OF THE WORLD

Opportunities for children or older people to work in groups to learn about the origins of world history from the cradle of humanity, and for students to look at the wonders of Africa, such as the source of the Great River Nile and Ethiopia's mono and semi-monolithic rock-hewn Churches.

DISPELLING THE MYTHS - UNCOVERING THE TRUTHS

Opportunities to explore the history of Africa, the Caribbean and Europe from a Black History perspective, to provide a framework on which to interpret history from a cultural perspective.

OPEN RESISTANCE - HIDDEN HISTORY

Workshop opportunities for families or groups to work together to research and share some fascinating facts about great leaders, freedom fighters and important places in African and Caribbean history.

MYSTERIES OF ZION

A chance for groups to learn about the connections between Ethiopia, Jerusalem, The Holy Bible, the Ark of the Covenant moving to Ethiopia, the Solomonic Linage of Kings in Ethiopia and the Ethiopian Orthodox Church.

DEEP RASTA ROOTS

A great chance to learn about Emperor Haile Selassie I, formerly Ras Tafari, also a opportunity to understand the development of the Rastafari faith and movement worldwide, the audience is welcomed to reason about the positive principles of Rastafari's cultural and spiritual livity (lifestyle).

RASTAFARI & BLACK YOUTH IN BRITAIN

A powerful presentetion showing the trials and tribulations of Black youths living in Britain during the 1970/80's and the role Rastafari played.

NEGUSA NEGAST EXHIBITIONS AND ART DISPLAYS

This is a great way to view and handle some very rare and historic artefacts from Africa, and the chance to see the fabulous original canvas painting of Ethiopian Glory amongst a host of educational materials.

ETHIOPIAN LANGUAGE

Opportunities for people to learn the Amharic Language of Ethiopia, focusing on communicative Amharic, this will be useful for those joining the African Heritage tour to Ethiopia in Dec 2010.

 

These workshops can be tailored to meet specific needs and in addition the following workshops will be of specific interest for schools:

ABOUT AFRICA

This is an enjoyable lesson for children, it combines Black History with Geography, R.E, African Language and Numbers.

ENCHANTED WISDOM

Children will learn the story of Africa's greatest love story, dress up in African clothes and dramatise a short piece of the story using various African words and sounds.
